The 10th wedding anniversary of my brother

Last week, we had a short vacation to my hometown to visit my family and also to celebrate my brother's 10th wedding anniversary. Indeed God is good! My brother's marriage started when he and his wife were not yet believers. Going through many ups and downs, there was time, they ven thought of breaking up but God is good. He had His own way to protect this family. My brother is a pastor now and they are happy with three kids. Although there are always things to work out for a better and more God-glorified marriage but we are thankful because they have experienced His compassion and love for their family and they are putting their trust in God, committedly serving Him.

Singing interpreter or interpreting singer?!~

Today was a fun and adventurous day! I joined in serving the conference as an interpreter. I actually did not want to be exposed too much with my "big" body in front of the audience of 300 attendants. Besides, when I arrived there, I saw many "predecessors" who are qualified and experienced for the work, "I better sit and learn" I thought. However, this is a big project of the church where I serve so I agree to join in 1 or 2 section during these 3 days, 16, 17, & 18 of November.
The coordinator asked me to come in the third section of this first day. Sigh. It's this early. And the speaker expected me to sing along with him as he preached. Sing? In English? I don't have any problems with singing in English with him with the melody of "You are my sunshine." No he meant in Vietnamese. What? It surprised me! We do not have this song translated into our language. And here he is, expecting me to sing in Vietnamese so people can get the illustration story he will tell as he closes his message. Ok, I got it but I was thrilled. Nervous. Scared. But challenging. I scanned the lyrics of the song and put correspondant Vietnamese words in my head. How I wished I could have the script yesterday. Thuan surely could help me translating the song with correspondantly beautiful words. God, help me! How can I make it? Ok, there we go.. I somehow got the meaning and also the big picture of the story. And time was up...! I was there standing on the stage with speaker. "My God, please help me, empower me and put words in my mouth." I prayed silently to Him.
And we finished the sermon well and you may not believe, I sang in Vietnamese. I was a singing interpreter. Or I may say I was an interpreting singer! Fun! Adventerous!
The story was really touching. Many could not keep their tears falling down.
I wish I can have the story to post for you.
Thuan was amazed when I told him as I went home. He could not believe I made it. And of course we know God wants the story to be well-conveyed to His people for ministering purpose and I was used as an instrument. Praise Him!
However, Thuan laughed when he watched the video recording the program because of one line I sang out of tune with the funny Vietnamese literal translation. Embarassing!
I hugged him, "Only 1 line, right? Honey? There are more than 20 lines in the song..!"
I have experienced such adventurous moment in this ministry.
