When we walk in God's way...

To our dear ministry and prayer partners, Here we are again, giving thanks and praises to God for the great and immeasurable things that He has done in and through us in a short while we have not been in touch closely. We have learned to walk in His way and have found that He has been powerful and able to do more than what we ever asked and thought. We thank you for all of your prayers, supports, and encouragements. We know that there are many ministers of the gospel but you chose to partner with us, many financial needs even in your own family but you chose to support and bless us financially, many things to do in your busy schedule but you chose to allot your time interceding, encouraging and upholding us in your prayers. How much we appreciate you and your heart for us! May our heavenly Father who sees your heart will bless you back in return! Moving to church planting, we chose faith instead of fear; obey in spite of obstacles; and wait for God’s direction instead of haste in our own way. We had our first gathering in July 22, starting with 4 people. God has given us one heart and desire to “to win the influential to influence Vietnam for Christ.” Our target will be young professionals in Ho Chi Minh City. Please pray for us as we are seeking for a couple in the market place who have same heart and vision like us to partner with. Also we will be holding the first evangelistic Bible Study this August 26. We need your special prayers for this meeting, may God bring the invited accountant and sale man to join us. We appreciate your labors for our ministry. We trust that God even honors them more. May you still find joy in standing beside us to reach Vietnam for Christ.
The invitation to teach Minor Prophets for CCC NST (New Staff Training) and students in Baptist Bible School gave Thuan strong motives to study the Word. He is convinced that a Bible teacher has to handle the Word accurately and carefully, especially when he aims to impact others through his teaching ministry. The six students in NST class were enlightened to the fact that the prophecies are inspired accordingly to God’s overall plan of salvation for the world and they are still relevant to people nowadays. Besides, one of his highlights in handling a seminar for Vietnamese workers who came to Christ in Malaysia is their heart to serve God in their young Christian life. He found so blessed being with them.
It was a great and inspiring time for Thuan to be in the Synoptic Gospels this time, teaching 34 pastors and leaders in Ha Noi. This is the best class that he taught on the same subject when he experienced the Holy Spirit’s presence, touching, and empowering.

We really thank God for how great He is to the Baptist youth camp in August 14-16. Esther led the camp of more than 80 youth gathering from many parts of Vietnam. Some had to travel 1000 kilometers to join the camp to study God’s Word and also fellowship with others. We started with “5 loaves and 2 fishes” but God multiplied them by using many pastors, and church members to give for the camp expenses. We praise God because many youth were touched to confess their sins, asking forgiveness, and opening their hearts for God to speak to them; many were touched and called by God to commit and recommit their lives for the harvests;
There were some conflicts that Esther encountered before preparing for the camp. Indeed, God is good! He understands her desire to be a leader who seeks to confront and resolve conflicts in order to build stronger commitment and love in relationship. He has used the camp to bring them together as they understand more about each other.

Happy Birthday to Daddy Thuan!

After a long and busy trip for ministry away from home, Thuan went home at 11:40' pm, just 20 minutes before his birthday passed. And guess what? A surprised party for Daddy Thuan. We had a great time celebrating at the midnight with Thuan. We thanked God for His work in and through him during the seminar and class. We shared the joy and hope in expectation of a fruitful and wonderful year in his life. Most specially, we welcome a new year of life to come with Thuan as a family, with Kairos, our precious one. We love you, Thuan, so much! Happy birthday!!!

Thuan was surprised and still shy (red face)
We sang for him in our funny clothes.

God's given ministry

I have many reasons to praise Him and give Him thanks for what He has done in and through me for the past week when I spent my time in Hanoi. The following are some highlights of my trip there.

I handled a seminar for workers who went to Malaysia for working and got converted during the time staying there, when they returned home, they are new believers facing many difficulties in their Christian lives. Amazingly, several of them have started to have small group and church planting. I felt so blessed being with them. I taught them how to study the Bible and how to lead a discussion in a small group.
The three following days, I taught a class on the Synoptic gospels (Mathew, Mark and Luke) to about 34 students who are pastors, church leaders from several tribal peoples in the North. They are hungry for the Word. God used my three days with the class very effectively and beneficially.

I have taught several classes on this subject, but this has been the best till now. I am so much grateful with the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Every student experienced the touching power from heaven by His presence. Especially, they have determined to apply what they learned in their personal lives and ministries. This encouraged me a lot, because my motto for teaching is “not merely convey the truth but make the conveyed truth change people’s lives.”
It's always a joy to serve Him and serve Him as what we want!
